Six steps, and one we hand over
Nothing here is automated and nothing here is instant. Each step ends with something you can see: a shortlist, a submitted application, an offer.
How it works, in a minute and a half
We ask, you talk
The first conversation is about the student, not about us. What they are studying now, what they are good at, what they want to do next, what the family can commit to. If you tell us a school name you have heard of, we will still start here.
A shortlist, with reasons
Registered providers only, and never more than a handful. Each one comes with why it is on the list and what the entry requirements actually are. If nothing fits, we say so, which is more useful than a longer list.
The application
We prepare it and lodge it with the provider, and we chase it. You will know what has been sent and what is outstanding. This is the point at which we ask for documents, and not before.
The offer of place
It comes from the provider, not from us, and it carries the provider's own fees. Read it properly. We will go through it with you, including the parts about refunds and withdrawal.
You pay the provider
Directly, into their account. Not to us, not through us. Once tuition is paid the provider issues what you need for the next step.
Arriving, and after
We are in Auckland, so we are still here once the student lands. Practical help settling in, and tutoring if the jump into NCEA or into studying in a second language turns out to be a big one.
The visa is not ours to touch
Between the offer of place and the student arriving there is a visa. It is a real step and we are not pretending it is not there. We are simply not allowed to help with it, and nor is any other education agent who is not licensed. So we hand it over rather than guess, and we will not give you a hint, an opinion or a timeframe even if you ask directly.
Vertex Academy is an education placement agency. We help you choose a registered New Zealand school or university, prepare your application to that provider, and stay in touch once you arrive. We are not licensed immigration advisers. We do not give immigration or visa advice, we do not assess whether you qualify for a visa, and we do not prepare or lodge visa applications. Under New Zealand law only a licensed immigration adviser, or a person the law exempts, may advise you on immigration.
Search the register of licensed immigration advisers. Kept by the Immigration Advisers Authority (iaa.govt.nz). For official visa information see Immigration New Zealand at immigration.govt.nz.
